All But Blind

As you probably already know, I absolutely love poetry. I love how words can be strung together to make something beautiful. I thought I'd share with you one of my favorite poems of all time by one of my favorite poets of all time. The poem is so simple but the meaning is poignant and thought provoking. This poem's style has a very simple 'ABCB' rhyme scheme which proves that a poem can be beautiful without having an extravagant rhyme scheme or form. But what about you? What are some of your favorite poems and why do you like them?

All But Blind
By Walter De la Mare

All but blind
In his cambered hole
Gropes for worms
The four-clawed Mole.

All but blind
In the evening sky
The hooded Bat
Twirls softly by.

All but blind
In the burning day
The Barn-Owl blunders
On her way.

And blind as are
These three to me,
So blind to someone
I must be.

Ohhh one of my favorites is Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe. It just makes me feel what I think he felt when he lost his love... It's so deep and so perfect. And I have other poems that I love but they're written in spanish, from people like Pablo Neruda, Amado Nervo, Octavio Paz... and many others.
Love that poem you share, I've never read it before.
Have a lovely day and lots of inspiration,
Ana
