Ipod Apps For Writers

If you have an ipod or an iphone and love to write, this is for you! Here are a few ipod apps that every writer should have.

Dictionary! A very important thing for every writer to have is a dictionary, especially if you aren't writing on your computer. Checking your spelling is a very important thing to do when you're writing, so instead of always carrying around a dictionary with me, I downloaded this dictionary app to my ipod. It's also very helpful when you're playing Scrabble.

25,000 Baby Names One of my favorite things about writing a new story is picking out the names. Names are very important in a story but it can be hard to find the right one. With this app, you can look through thousands of baby names to find the right one for your character.

23,469 Classics To Go Another important thing to do in order to become a better writer is to read a lot. This application is free and amazing. You can carry over 23,000 books in your pocket and have them anywhere. It's filled with classics like Pride and Prejudice and The Count of Monte Cristo. Check it out.

POETRY from the Poetry Foundation I find that reading poetry is very inspirational when I'm having writer's block. This app has hundreds of contemporary and classic poems that you can browse by keywords such as 'joy' and 'nostalgia' or you can even shake your ipod and a new poem will come up.

No, I'm not boycotting it, I like some Apple products but I don't like the company.
