Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

I shamelessly went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at midnight on Thursday night and as I went into the theater, I was all like:
So I went into the theater and I left extremely satisfied. I thought that maybe, after seeing the final movie, I would have a feeling of emptiness in my heart but I felt quite the opposite. But even though I really enjoyed the movie, I did not enjoy the audience's responses to the movie. There was laughing, screaming, clapping, yelling, and crying as if they didn't know what was going to happen but they were all there at midnight so they were obviously dedicated Harry Potter fans so they should know what happens, right? At times I was just like:
For the most part, I liked the movie and thought that the actors were all very good (especially Maggie Smith and Helena Bonham Carter) and even though they left out a few little things here and even added a few things, it worked. The only thing I really didn't like was the epilogue because, while some of the actors were convincing, Emma Watson and Bonnie Wright did not look 19 years older. But, all in all, it was a very good movie. And maybe I'm being insensitive, but I know a lot of people are really emotional about the last Harry Potter movie but I don't see what's so sad about it. I mean, it's not really over. We can still read it over and over and over and over again and make our children read it and they'll read it over and over and over and over again. So when I left the theater I wasn't like:

But I was more like:

Haha The gifs are perfect. I definitely wasn't sobbing because of the ending. The ending actually felt really joyous to me. But I always have an extremely emotional reaction to some of the character deaths regardless of how many times I've read the book.

I'm SO mad at myself for not going to the midnight showing, but we're headed out to see it Wed.

Can't WAIT.

Heyo thanks for stopping by before:) So yeah, these gifs are really great and agree with you about the epilogue, I did snort a bit at that. It's true that Harry Potter will always be the boy that lived but I don't know, it just feels like the end of an era- bittersweet like leaving highschool or something... needless to say, you took the end a lot better than me. I was more or less the 2nd gif an hour after the movie ended bahaha;)

Midnight audiences are always super rowdy; I think because they know they won't get enough sleep that night.

I also agree about EW and BW not looking older; they did a much better job aging the guys.

This is easily one of the best accounts of the Potter experience I have come across so far. Loved the use of gifs. LOL

I plan to catch the film this coming weekend. Figure the lineups will be much shorter.

Awesome post! I wanted to see the movie so badly. Everyone who watched it kept telling me about the movie until it drove me crazy with jealousy. Lol. :) I was up doing summmer work for AP History the night when everyone went to the midnight showing. I agree that HP is not over. It's going to be remembered for ages in ages to come! :]

Love the use of the visuals to describe your experience. It was a spectacular finale, if a little skimpy on the emotion. Nice blog :-)
